Hey ,i was surfing the net ,looking for some traveling information for the coming Qing Ming Fesitval(it’s a traditional festiva in China,so i will have three days free time ~~~I am a Chinese student in Beijing ,by the way ) ~~and quite by accident,i saw your posts and was fascinated by what you are going to do ,and was amazed by what you have achieved ~~~
You are living the life which many a people are dreaming of ,including myself .
And the best part is i have never imagined there is such a lifestyle in the world ~~~ i am a junior in college right now ,studing computer science .Being in the third year in college is the high time to think about the life after graduation. someone said “follow your heart ,follow your passion !” Ok question: what is my passion ~~~Travelling ,yeah Travelling is my passion ,which is absolutely true ,problem is :how am i going to make it ? can i make a living by traveling ,maybe ,how exactely? a journalist , an interpreter ,or ^^^^?
for a computer science student ,there is a long way to go ~~~
so you did me a great favor in one sense or another ~~combining passions in web design and travelling seems a way out .thanks ,and i wish i could be friends with you sincerely.By the way ,i can play guitar and i volunterred in the Olympic Green during the Olympics ,i might see you before ^_^
Thanks Kirsty. I don’t think I’ve written to you before, but I’ve read a lot of your stuff. I’ve come back to this post a few times over the past few months and it’s inspired me to write a list of my own. http://www.timwoods.org/2009/06/11/life-list/
Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Great List! I really enjoy the blog (I came across it while reading Extreme Telecommute). I always think about making a list like this (and I think I did years ago), but I feel like my list of desired things to do would change so often. I hope you enjoy your upcoming travels. It look like you have a lot of great things coming up. Let me know if you are ever in Croatia!
Nice list Kirsty,
I’ve been thinking of doing no. 52 Live in Beunos Aires for sometime!
Good luck with the list!

[…] Over at nerdynomad.com Kirsty has a great 99 things on her to-do list. […]
Kirsty - great list. You are a very cool chick - can I copy off of you? This list is full of really good ideas.
This is an absolutely fantastic list. I love it, and I want to steal most of it, including skiing in Iran. That never even occurred to me before, but it’s a brilliant idea when I think about it.
I see you’ve started checking things off- have fun with the rest of it!
Loving the list! Just found your site today, and I’ve enjoyed several of your posts. Not sure what Uluru is, but the other 5 “never want to do” would be on my list of not ever as well.
I need to sit down and come up with a list. It’s ridiculously how I am so motivated to do so by everyone else’s list then get too lazy.
Thanks for the inspiration

[…] As I was writing it I went exploring online and found a lot of amazing life/to-do/bucket lists from other bloggers. Since reading all of these lists and recreating my own I’ve been pondering the idea of life lists. […]

cool list kristy! i came to this post from your other one about raising $10,000 for charity. i think this year i’ve surpassed that goal myself, i have been fundraising for 4 years now with the leukemia & lymphoma society by running marathons and half marathons to raise awareness for the charity. i’ve also been a “mentor” for people new to the program, so i know that it’s different for every person. i tend to do a majority of my fundraising through word of mouth and social media (see my blog at http://runnersparadise.wordpress.com) but a lot of people have better luck with offering a product for a donation, such as your ebook. as a long-time reader of your blog, i think it’s a great idea and i’d be happy to give a donation in order to hear more about your process and the inspiration behind it! let me know if you would like some other fundraising ideas!
also, i love your life list. i have a “30 before 30″ list going (http://my30before30.wordpress.com) that i’m trying to complete before the big 3-0 on april 1 of next year. you’re making great progress on your list - i need to get going with mine, i’m running low on time! =)

A suggestion for Number 9: come to Europe and cycle across Liechtenstein - you can do it in an afternoon! Keep up the good work, you’ll get there!
Nice Kirsty! Like the list. I can see you’ll be checking a few of those off quite soon. Nice meeting you at HODR. Hopefully our paths will cross again. I’d be happy to take you on a glorious Algonquin canoe trip if we’re ever back home. xo
I think that the most interesting part of the list is what you don’t want to do. It is funny because you seem adventurous but are not willing to go caving. I have had a lot of fun caving but my wife won’t go because she is scared or more like claustrophobic.
hey mrs - just stumbled across your site, wow!!! its awesome and a real inspiration
i have just started my blog, i’ve been on the road for 3 1/2 years, 35 countries and still on the move. Next stop is South Africa then from Cape Town to Istanbul by land, that’s the rest of the year taken care of! lol
I love you list, i have something similar on http://onestep4ward.com/the-list/ but i’m still struggling with the technology at the moment, the site isnt as funky as i would like :S
I’ll continue to follow you on ur blog and maybe c ya in SA!!
Cool list you have here Kirsty..
I can help you with number 7, 53, and 78..if you plan to visit Indonesia, check Central Java..you might interest with all the culture..fyi..Solo, Indonesia has been known for World’s Heritage City..

Hi Kristy.
I’ve been a fan for a while. Not sure why I never said hi before. Caving is surprisingly fun, but I’ve never done the “hardcore” caving so I guess should have held that in until get my head gets squashed between a couple boulders.
There are a lot of ways to learn about sustainable living in Vermont — from organic gardening to watershed management and sustainable economics. I’d be happy to show you around and share some delicious organic food with you if you make this way

Hi again, Kirsty,
I’d like to withdraw that comment about caving. Apparently you can get rare blood disease from bats and hemorrhage to death. That’s all need to hear.

Hi nerdy nomad!
So nice to see the Ati-Atihan Festival in the Philippines on your list — and that you’ve ticked it off too.
Love reading your travel blog. Keep the wanderlust burning!
Hannah
wow….good luck with your list…:)
Quite liked your website til I saw one of things you want to do is ‘eat dog’.
If I see you on my travels I will spit on you - stay away from Thailand.
Amazing that you listed “Attend the Nadam Festival in Mongolia.” I didn’t think anyone else had ever heard of it. We were living in Ulan Bator in 2006 when they had the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Mongol Empire (seems that Genghis did it in 1206) and they had the biggest Nadam Festival of all time. It was spectacular. Really hope that you get a chance to go. You’ll love it.
Michael
@nerd Don’t worry, I don’t want to eat the cute ones.
I just don’t get it to be fair.
Will it give you a sense of achievement ? Confused.. from England..
@nerd I’m not really sure how eating something would ever give anyone a sense of achievement. I want to try it, the same way I want to try ostrich, crocodile, durian etc etc. Except no eyeballs, please.
I’m not really too keen to have a conversation with someone who wants to spit on me though, so bugger off.
