You are living the life which many a people are dreaming of ,including myself .
And the best part is i have never imagined there is such a lifestyle in the world ~~~ i am a junior in college right now ,studing computer science .Being in the third year in college is the high time to think about the life after graduation. someone said “follow your heart ,follow your passion !” Ok question: what is my passion ~~~Travelling ,yeah Travelling is my passion ,which is absolutely true ,problem is :how am i going to make it ? can i make a living by traveling ,maybe ,how exactely? a journalist , an interpreter ,or ^^^^?
for a computer science student ,there is a long way to go ~~~
so you did me a great favor in one sense or another ~~combining passions in web design and travelling seems a way out .thanks ,and i wish i could be friends with you sincerely.By the way ,i can play guitar and i volunterred in the Olympic Green during the Olympics ,i might see you before ^_^
Thanks Kirsty. I don’t think I’ve written to you before, but I’ve read a lot of your stuff. I’ve come back to this post a few times over the past few months and it’s inspired me to write a list of my own. http://www.timwoods.org/2009/06/11/life-list/
Thanks for sharing your adventures.

Great List! I really enjoy the blog (I came across it while reading Extreme Telecommute). I always think about making a list like this (and I think I did years ago), but I feel like my list of desired things to do would change so often. I hope you enjoy your upcoming travels. It look like you have a lot of great things coming up. Let me know if you are ever in Croatia!
Nice list Kirsty,
I’ve been thinking of doing no. 52 Live in Beunos Aires for sometime!
Good luck with the list!

Kirsty – great list. You are a very cool chick – can I copy off of you? This list is full of really good ideas.
This is an absolutely fantastic list. I love it, and I want to steal most of it, including skiing in Iran. That never even occurred to me before, but it’s a brilliant idea when I think about it.
I see you’ve started checking things off- have fun with the rest of it!
Loving the list! Just found your site today, and I’ve enjoyed several of your posts. Not sure what Uluru is, but the other 5 “never want to do” would be on my list of not ever as well.
I need to sit down and come up with a list. It’s ridiculously how I am so motivated to do so by everyone else’s list then get too lazy.
Thanks for the inspiration

I can’t recommend #46, it’s disgusting.
woow!
That’s amazing!
I’ll make my list!
If you come to BA let me know!
I work in a hostel and I’m vegetarian since almost 3 years
I can help you with some of your 99 things =)

cool list kristy! i came to this post from your other one about raising $10,000 for charity. i think this year i’ve surpassed that goal myself, i have been fundraising for 4 years now with the leukemia & lymphoma society by running marathons and half marathons to raise awareness for the charity. i’ve also been a “mentor” for people new to the program, so i know that it’s different for every person. i tend to do a majority of my fundraising through word of mouth and social media (see my blog at http://runnersparadise.wordpress.com) but a lot of people have better luck with offering a product for a donation, such as your ebook. as a long-time reader of your blog, i think it’s a great idea and i’d be happy to give a donation in order to hear more about your process and the inspiration behind it! let me know if you would like some other fundraising ideas!
also, i love your life list. i have a “30 before 30″ list going (http://my30before30.wordpress.com) that i’m trying to complete before the big 3-0 on april 1 of next year. you’re making great progress on your list – i need to get going with mine, i’m running low on time! =)
A suggestion for Number 9: come to Europe and cycle across Liechtenstein – you can do it in an afternoon! Keep up the good work, you’ll get there!
Nice Kirsty! Like the list. I can see you’ll be checking a few of those off quite soon. Nice meeting you at HODR. Hopefully our paths will cross again. I’d be happy to take you on a glorious Algonquin canoe trip if we’re ever back home. xo
I think that the most interesting part of the list is what you don’t want to do. It is funny because you seem adventurous but are not willing to go caving. I have had a lot of fun caving but my wife won’t go because she is scared or more like claustrophobic.
hey mrs – just stumbled across your site, wow!!! its awesome and a real inspiration
i have just started my blog, i’ve been on the road for 3 1/2 years, 35 countries and still on the move. Next stop is South Africa then from Cape Town to Istanbul by land, that’s the rest of the year taken care of! lol
I love you list, i have something similar on http://onestep4ward.com/the-list/ but i’m still struggling with the technology at the moment, the site isnt as funky as i would like :S
I’ll continue to follow you on ur blog and maybe c ya in SA!!
Cool list you have here Kirsty..
I can help you with number 7, 53, and 78..if you plan to visit Indonesia, check Central Java..you might interest with all the culture..fyi..Solo, Indonesia has been known for World’s Heritage City..

long list to go throught, for studying arabic i can help your
Hi Kristy.
I’ve been a fan for a while. Not sure why I never said hi before. Caving is surprisingly fun, but I’ve never done the “hardcore” caving so I guess should have held that in until get my head gets squashed between a couple boulders.
There are a lot of ways to learn about sustainable living in Vermont — from organic gardening to watershed management and sustainable economics. I’d be happy to show you around and share some delicious organic food with you if you make this way

Hi again, Kirsty,
I’d like to withdraw that comment about caving. Apparently you can get rare blood disease from bats and hemorrhage to death. That’s all need to hear.

Hi nerdy nomad!
So nice to see the Ati-Atihan Festival in the Philippines on your list — and that you’ve ticked it off too.
Love reading your travel blog. Keep the wanderlust burning!
Hannah
wow….good luck with your list…:)
Quite liked your website til I saw one of things you want to do is ‘eat dog’.
If I see you on my travels I will spit on you – stay away from Thailand.
Amazing that you listed “Attend the Nadam Festival in Mongolia.” I didn’t think anyone else had ever heard of it. We were living in Ulan Bator in 2006 when they had the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Mongol Empire (seems that Genghis did it in 1206) and they had the biggest Nadam Festival of all time. It was spectacular. Really hope that you get a chance to go. You’ll love it.
Michael
@nerd Don’t worry, I don’t want to eat the cute ones.
I just don’t get it to be fair.
Will it give you a sense of achievement ? Confused.. from England..
@nerd I’m not really sure how eating something would ever give anyone a sense of achievement. I want to try it, the same way I want to try ostrich, crocodile, durian etc etc. Except no eyeballs, please.
I’m not really too keen to have a conversation with someone who wants to spit on me though, so bugger off.
Nice list! I have a list of my own at my website and I must say that “eat dog” does not appear on it. Dog doesn’t appeal to me at all. I have, however, tried kangaroo and it’s delicious! Good luck and happy travels!
I have to echo Nerd’s comment… I liked your site until I saw ‘Eat Dog’ on there. Shame that you claim to want to do good and then on the other hand want to support some questionable practices (have you ever seen how the process of raising, selling and killing dogs for food works?).
Fair enough. At least you don’t want to spit on me.
Why is nobody upset that I ate a scorpion?
Nice list! How was swimming with whale sharks? I am an avid diver and I love diving with sharks. There is a great place to dive with sharks in Morehead City, North Carolina it does require an advanced certification due to the deep depth and high current. But you will not be disappointed. I have been in the middle of over 300 sharks at once, it was amazing.
Hi Kristy,
I just found your blog and love this list – if you want to go to Burning Man let me know. My roomie and friends are burners and very helpful sources of information. Plus – I may go for the first time next September.
Great! I did this a lot of years ago, but with priorities like top 5 things that I want to do within the upcoming 1-3-5 years and so on. This can help you keep focus on the most important things and not on the things that can wait =)
Hi Kirsty, great list, but some on your to-do-list I really wouldn’t like to do (eat dog?); on the other hand i’ve done three things on your “Thngs I Never Want to Do” list. I should make a list like this to. Good luck with your still to do doings!
Hi Kirsty!
Great list and website!
Very happy to see that you DON’T want to climb Uluru – no doubt you already know but for any of your followers who don’t: it’s a sacred site for our already trampled upon indigenous Australians and I wish our government would make it illegal…
Perhaps I can assist with #19 and #20 – if you visit Western Australia we have fabulous windsurfing conditions and I’m sure my partner would be happy to give you a lesson!
As for volunteering as an English teacher – please consider visiting the wonderful school where we volunteered last year:

Best wishes,
Jasmyn
OMG why would you WANT to eat dog?!?!?!
Sounds to me like a lot of these things you did and then made the list, not made the list and then went out and did those things.
It’s like I got lost driving into a major city the other day and once I found my way, I was in a shady town where I asked for directions and ended up at a really good mexican restaurant.
1. Get lost on the way to a major city
2. Ask someone for directions
3. Eat really good Mexican food
Where did you get the inspiration for that list?
The inspiration to make the list? I don’t remember… just something I dreamed up. For the items on the list… I don’t remember that, either! I think I sat down one day and tried to think of a bunch of things. Then it’s been evolving ever since. I add and drop things occasionally.
Eat a dog?! You must be kidding here?
I just found this site and I already love it. What a neat idea to make a public bucket list. Do you find that by making it public it pushes you to complete the items on the list?
Hi nice list, I have one kind of like this, it has been a long time since I looked at it, so cannot even recall half the things on there.
I had never thought of putting it online but it is a good idea. Hope you are doing well in your journey to get all 99 done.
Hi, I was just wondering where exactly you were that wasn’t on any map?
Good luck for your 99. This is mine: http://www.manuelmagic.me/99things/index.html bye!
Excellent. I particularly like “travel on a cargo ship”. If you do, let me know how you managed it.
Love the list! Other than eating dog
yuk! I think I’d like to accomplish everything you’ve got as well!
Good luck!
Great List! That´s funny!
Stumbled across your website by accident looking for any website that had the word nomad in the site address…..
You should come visit me and you will be able to check a couple of things on your list after that: learn to play mahjong, climb a volcano and look in, learn to surf, learn to play guitar, learn how to ride a motorbike, eat something spicy it’ll make you cry….. this is just to name those I could remember from your list.
Seriously!
I noticed you mention coming to Siberia in winter.
I’ve just done it and it is spectacular! Yes we had that experiment when it was minus 43 and people threw that pan of boiling water out of the window and it froze in mid air (there’s a youtube vid of it somewhere)
Otherwise the days are bright, the air is fresh and crisp and people are friendly. Actually still the same mid-march 2013, but spring just around the corner. Come and say hi if you’re anywhere nearby – you’ll be made welcome!
