@neale Ya I know what the problem is but it’s not really fixable. It’s all downhill from here I think and that’s one of the major reasons I need to diversify… pronto!

Looks like you are settling in and have found what one can only term as a floor, seems more solid than before because the very volatile parts don’t contribute hardly anything towards this $1000

Whats strange is your affiliate sales this time last year where higher have you figured out what is amiss?

Kirsty it sounds like you are well on your way to breaking the $1000 mark. That $684 in affiliate sales is a decent amount. Just focus on what has been working for the London site. Google will give the Sydney site some love soon enough. Just focus more on the money makers for now.

@mek I get about 800 unique visits across all of my sites, with 300 a day coming from my London site. So not really that many. The only earner that seems to grow with traffic is Adsense. More or less.

@mold I don’t really earn anything from my blog, it’s all from other sites. Affiliate marketing is something I will be getting into a lot more in the coming months so stay tuned for some more posts about it.

Ya I’m looking forward to seeing what sort of affiliate earnings I can crank out of my London site. I will probably add some programs in the coming weeks and keep everyone updated on how it’s going.

Why worry about hovering at about $1000/month when you haven’t even completely monetized your Living in London site? I think it’s good news that you get a lot of traffic there, so go and make the best of it.

You mentioned affiliates for your London site, well I have an old site about living in London that I really don’t update much anymore but I still make some affiliate sales.

The types of affiliate programs that seem to work well with this type of site were dating and friendship.

I would imagine people researching a city, perhaps with a view to moving there and starting over again might be interested in these areas and they do convert pretty well, which is why dating is such a competitive area!

Just an idea anyway…

i just got into blogging a few months ago, and actually started reading nerdynomad a few months ago as well

for me traffic is growing expotentially but ad revenue is remaining flat. which means i am doing a horrible time monetizing i suppose..

its def. interesting though
