The soccer game in Haiti was funny because there were no away fans at all and, whenever a goal was scored, the entire crowd rushed onto the field (everyone just stands on the out of bounds lines) and celebrated for a couple o fminutes and then returned to exactly where they're previously been standing. Very strange experience.

Ya it has been a pretty great year all around. I snuck in a three week visit home too. Here's hoping 2009 is just as good. I do think I learned a lot in the past year about the way I like to travel and I'm looking forward to testing things out in 2009.

Hey Kirsty, it's really great to read about your year in retrospect. You've already done and seen more in a year than most folks will in a lifetime.

As someone who's been planning a RTW trip for sometime now, I'll say you're a great inspiration.

Best of luck in '09!

There are numerous places that you performed activities in during 2008. Going to a soccer game in Haiti sounds like it would have been quite enjoyable, due to the fervor of the fans, as they cheered on their sides. The points about losing money, due to concrete plans not working out, is something that you were wise to take note of, as that can prevent it from occurring too often in the future. Many of these items that you have completed, or may complete in your future plans, is something that people should note that they would be able to do, if they planned the future in a way that allowed for them.
