WP really simplifies the publishing process... and also brings a great possible amounts of plugins. I am thinking of using WP for a future website (not a blog)... only one thing I wish was easy with WP is the possibility to create its own database tables. Take a basic concept, give it a design and a couple of entries, then drop it on one of the auction sites (eg sitepoint) and see what you can get for it.
